What GPSR requires on your label and in your listing

Two articles do the work. Article 16(3) says what goes on the product; Article 19 says what goes in a distance-sales offer. Both are about identification and contact, not about testing.

On the product (Article 16(3))

The responsible person's name, registered trade name or trademark, and contact details including postal address and email, on the product or its packaging, the parcel or an accompanying document. The manufacturer's own identification is a separate duty under Article 9: name, trade name or trademark, postal and electronic address, and a type, batch or serial number.

In the listing (Article 19)

At least: the manufacturer's name or trademark, postal address and email; where the manufacturer is not established in the EU, the responsible person's name, postal address and email; information to identify the product, including a picture, the type and any other product identifier; and any warning or safety information in a language that consumers in the member state can easily understand.

Example compliance block

Manufacturer: [Brand Co. Ltd], [street, city, postcode, country], [email]
EU responsible person: [Your Ltd], [registered office, Malta], [email]
Product: [name], type [code], batch [number]
Safety: [warnings in DE/FR/IT/ES/NL as applicable]

We supply this block filled in, in the destination languages, for every product we represent.

Common mistakes

Putting the responsible person's details only in the listing and not in the parcel; using a PO box with no email; naming a fulfilment warehouse that has not agreed to be the responsible person; English-only warnings for a product sold in Germany or France.
